I have been wondering for a while now why people can’t be more kind to one another. Are we so inherently selfish that we forget that others are also battling?
Maybe we just become so self-focused and goal oriented or look on kindness as a weakness?
I don’t have the answers.
It just saddens me when I see people hurting others, when a little kindness would take but a minute.
None of us know the battle others are facing, we don’t know the heartache, the pain or the stress in their lives.
How much would it take of our time to just show a little kindness, to speak gentler, to say the encouraging word, even just to smile at the tired looking lady serving in the store?
Is it too much to ask that we be a little kinder to our families, friends, workmates and, yes, the stranger in the street?
We will never fully know nor appreciate the positive impact that kind deed could have on their lives.
So, please, lets all try a little kindness on this journey we call “life”.
